Frequently Asked Questions
Will the same artist who does my trial do my wedding day, hair & make-up?
Absolutely! Once you have met the artist and bonded with her & she knows your hair and make-up needs & you know her personality we never like to swap people around. However if there was an emergency, we always take detailed notes.
How long does the trial take?
A trial for the bride takes approximately 1 hour for either hair or make-up or 2 hours for both. Usually only the bride has a trial but you can have the bridesmaids there on the day and we can have a look at their hair, have a chat to them and it won't cost them anything.
Do you come to our home?
Yes we do! For the trial and on the wedding day - wherever you are and whenever is convenient.
How long will it take on the day?
Well that all depends on what sort of hairstyle you are having, or if you are just having make-up we allow 1 hour for the bride, 1/2 an hour for everyone else and a spare 1/2 hour just in case you throw up, pass out, burst into tears or just need some food at lunchtime. We always have you ready at least 1/2 hour before the photographer is due - that gives you time to get dressed and go to the toilet. All photographers expect you to be dressed and ready when they get there. This ensures that the timing of your day will run really smoothly.
What kind of make-up do you use?
As professional ,make-up artists we have to have lots of make-up. Foundations for normal/ dry skin with colours that range from the palest porcelain through the Asian skin tones, right up to very dark. The ranges we use vary with each artist but you will nearly always find MAC, RCMA, Joe Blasco, Kryolan, & make-up brands like Maybelline - for great waterproof mascara & Base Cosmetics for excellent lipsticks.
Do I need to take any make-up with me on the day?
All you need to take is a translucent (no colour) powder
compact and puff - to get peoples kisses off your face. It is also good to
powder the grooms face - it absorbs the oil and evens out his skin tone, no
one can tell he is wearing it but it is much better for the photo's. Also
a lipstick for touch ups all that kissing and smiling will wear on even the
longest wearing of lipsticks, we recommend Base Cosmetics lip products.
